Shantiniketan is a new age, independent co-educational school.  It was started in 2011 with a single hall, by a group of educationalist under the Shree Mahalaxmi Group Education Society to provide Quality Educational facilities to mainly rural children from in and around Khanapur.

Quality education, based on the five moral and spiritual universal values of SATHYA, DHARMA, SHANTHI, PREMA and AHIMSA, is imparted.  All important national and religious festivals, birthdays of great saints, patriots and religious leaders are celebrated in a proper manner.  Faith in the fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man is instilled through moral instructional classes, prayers, bhajans, stories and parables drawn from different religions of the World.  Here the students are taught to be self-reliant, active and practical, and are encouraged to develop a sense of social obligation and service-mindedness.  The students are made to feel that the school is their home.
